Privacy policy

This policy explains what FPV PID Tune stores, why, for how long, and your rights. The controller is Paweł Laszczak PawelosFPV (details below).
What stays in your browser
Your flight log is read in your browser. Only a compact summary of the measurements (noise levels, step response and which moves were found, never raw samples or GPS positions) is sent to our server. Sharing the raw log file is a separate opt-in, off by default (see “Flight logs you choose to share”). Before you sign in, which happens when you unlock a tune, your backup and results stay in your browser; at sign-in they move to your account.
What we store
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Account: email address and sign-in methods | To sign you in and link your tunes and purchases | For the life of the account |
| Quads: flight controller ID, craft name, board, firmware, prop size | To recognise a quad when you plug it in, and tie a tune to it | For the life of the account |
| Backups: the full settings text of each quad | So you can always restore your original settings | For the life of the account |
| Rounds: measurement summaries, your answers (including any note you write about how the quad flies), proposed and applied values | So undo works and each round builds on the last | For the life of the account |
| Purchases: Stripe payment IDs, amount, currency, status | To unlock tunes, handle refunds and keep accounting records | As long as tax law requires |
| Raw flight logs, only if you tick “Share this flight log” (never logs with GPS data) | To fix and improve how we read flights, and to build test flights for the tuning engine | 90 days, then deleted |
Old logs found on your quad may contain GPS positions. They are saved only if you ask, and kept private. The legal bases are performing our contract with you (the service and tunes), legal obligations (accounting), and our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and working.
What you have to give us
Your email address (or Google sign-in) is needed to buy a tune and keep it in your account. Nothing else is required: the rest comes from your quad and your flights when you use the app, or is optional.
The AI and decisions about you
An AI model proposes tuning values for your quad from measurement summaries. It makes no decision about you with legal or similarly significant effects; you decide whether to apply its values.
Children
The service isn’t aimed at children under 16. If you are under 16, ask a parent or guardian before you buy a tune, share a flight log or send us a quote.
Flight logs you choose to share
When your log is loaded, the app shows an unticked box: “Share this flight log to help improve FPV PID Tune. We keep it for 90 days and never share it.” Your choice is remembered in your browser, and you can untick it any time: unticking stops future sharing. This is optional and has no effect on your tune.
- Why: to find out when our analysis reads a flight wrongly, and to build test flights from real logs so the tuning engine can be checked against them. Only the owner looks at shared logs; we never give them to anyone else.
- When: only if the box is ticked and you are signed in, once your flight has been analysed and the app has created your round on our server. That is straight after the analysis if your quad already has an active tune, otherwise when you press Unlock. The file is sent as it came off your quad, once per round. We also check on our side that it has no GPS data, and refuse it if it does.
- GPS logs are never collected. If a log has GPS data, the app doesn’t send it and tells you so.
- How long: 90 days, then the file is deleted automatically. Logs you already shared are also deleted on request: email support@fpvpidtune.com. Deleting your account deletes your shared logs straight away. Your data export lists them (when, size and which round) but not the file itself.
The legal basis is your consent. You can withdraw it by unticking the box (future logs) and by emailing us (logs already shared).
Feedback and quotes
After a tune, the app asks how your quad flies now. Your answer, the two optional texts (what you would tell another pilot, and what we should fix) and your account email are stored with your account, so we can read them and follow up if you ask. Your “fix” note is private: we never publish it.
- Quotes: we publish what you would tell another pilot on fpvpidtune.com only if you tick “You can quote this on fpvpidtune.com”, under the name you give us (a handle is fine). If you used a beta tester code, the quote is labelled “Beta tester, free access”.
- Withdraw it: email support@fpvpidtune.com and we remove the quote from the site and stop using it. Deleting your account deletes your feedback, and your data export lists it.
- Who sees it: the owner, by email (sent through our email provider) and in the database. The legal basis is your consent; you can send nothing and keep tuning.
Processors
We use these companies to run the service. Each processes data only on our instructions.
- Cloudflare: Hosting, database, file storage, security and cookieless analytics
- Stripe: Payments and receipts
- PayPal: Payment, only if you choose PayPal at checkout
- Resend: Sign-in and account emails
- OpenRouter: Routes the AI request to Anthropic. It gets measurement summaries, your answers about the flight and any note you write, never your email or name, and we tell it not to keep or train on them (provider data collection set to deny)
- Anthropic: The AI model provider that proposes values from measurement summaries, your answers and any note you write
- Google: Sign-in with Google, only if you choose it
Some processors are outside the EU and UK. Transfers rely on adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
Cookies and browser storage
We only use cookies the site needs to work:
- One keeps you signed in. It lasts 180 days and renews when you use the site; signing out removes it.
- Short-lived ones while you sign in: 15 minutes for the email link, and a few minutes during Google sign-in if you use it.
Your browser’s local storage keeps your tuning session and, before you sign in, your backup and results (see “What stays in your browser”). The sign-in form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to stop bots. All of this is needed for the service you ask for, so there’s no cookie banner.
Analytics are cookieless: Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views, and the app counts steps such as “connected” or “applied” with only the browser, board and firmware. Neither records who you are. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and UK GDPR you can access, correct, export or delete your data, object to or restrict processing, and complain to a supervisory authority (in Poland, the UODO; in the UK, the ICO). California residents have the right to know, delete and correct personal information, and we don’t sell or share it for advertising.
You can export everything (backups as text, history as JSON) and delete your account from the account page. Deletion completes within 30 days. For anything else, email support@fpvpidtune.com.
